Kitchen, loaf, pudding – 23/52 :)

June 6, 2016

Follow me on Spotify! Right now I have four playlists, though they are a bit bare at the moment, so forgive me: mellow/chillstep, upbeat/mainstream, background, unsorted. It’s taken me awhile to jump onto the bandwagon because I didn’t get how to use it and I still don’t really, but I’ve been making myself use it instead of 8tracks or Pandora like I usually do, so hopefully I’ll catch on. Spotify isn’t the most user-friendly platform and connectivity can sometimes be spotty (or maybe that’s just me) and if I have to listen to another Febreze ad I think I’m going to stab something, but people use it and I like listening to music other people discover. Music makes me happy, and finding new music makes me happier, which is why I usually add a “currently listening to” at the end of my happy lists. What have you been listening to?

Books, shopping, staycation – 22/52 :)

May 30, 2016

After kickboxing on Monday, I was sore and limping from Tuesday to mid-Friday, which made my walks to and from work a little less enjoyable. The sun also decided to come out and has been beating down relentlessly. I’ve developed a system: After I get off work at 5:00PM, I shower at the gym (still haven’t cleaned up the shower at our apartment) then walk to Saxbys Coffee, which is right at the edge of campus, hang out their in the air conditioned space until it closes at 8:00PM and the weather cools down, and then walk home.

Launch, mornings, books – 21/52 :)

May 23, 2016

If you’re keeping up with the blog, you’ll know that I’m living off-campus with Kat next year and we’ve found our apartment! Meanwhile, this summer I’m renting out a different apartment from a friend with Victoria. And, well, I briefly ranted about the state of that apartment in last week’s post. Since then, we’ve come up with a better plan. We’ve negotiated with the people we’re renting from to buy us heavy-duty cleaning supplies, but for the past few days, Victoria and I have been hanging out at Starbucks to use their bathroom and then have been walking down to Haverford in the evenings to shower at their gym, but their gym isn’t open on the weekends, so over the weekends we need to walk further down to Bryn Mawr and get Julia, who is living there over the summer, to let us into the dorm and shower. This blogger’s life certainly isn’t all glitz and glamour. On the bright side, we’re doing a lot of walking, so hopefully we’ll have really nice legs by the end of summer, and also this is the beautiful view we walk by every evening on our way to Haverford’s gym.

Boxes, sales, break – 20/52 :)

May 16, 2016

I’ve survived another school year! It’s been a crazy weekend of finalizing projects, maneuvering around families seeing their kids for graduation, and packing up. I finally saw the apartment that my friend Victoria and I are staying in this summer that we rented from her friends. It was a MESS. Lint and hair and god knows what else everywhere. So gross. After moving all our boxes into the apartment, we found a box of Clorox and immediately started wiping everything down, starting from our room that we’re sharing for the next week that we’ve dubbed our safe haven, then moved onto the living room, then the dining room, including the table and chairs and the bottoms of them, and then we decided to brave the bathroom because we’re gonna need to use that, but we just barely started wiping it down when we realized that we had just used up the whole box of Clorox. At that point we were totally exhausted and were at a loss as to what to do next. Victoria jokingly said, what if we walked back to campus and showered there and used their free wifi? Hahaha. But then it actually wasn’t such a bad idea. So we did that. I’m so glad that I’m not dealing with this on my own!

Ramen, flowers, concerts – 19/52

May 9, 2016

It’s been a month since I’ve purged myself of social media and it’s been great! I have no plans to get on Facebook anytime soon, though I do have to say that I miss the Events feature. I don’t have plans to get back on Instagram either. I kept thinking about whether or not I wanted to stop using Tumblr, but it’s the one social media site I “know” how to use, and I appreciate all the #relatable text posts, so I’m going to keep the Tumblr I reblog things on and then leave my photography Tumblr as an inactive archive. I could honestly live without Twitter, but it seems like the go-to social media platform for people in the tech industry, whether that’s programming or blogging or something else, so as a computer science major, imma keep Twitter at least for now. As for Pinterest… I’ve reactivated it! Kat and I have been making plans for our apartment so…

Hoods, laughs, posters – 18/52

May 2, 2016

The weather has seriously been a drag and it looks like it’s gonna stay that way for the next week, but maybe that’ll help me focus on studying instead of dreaming about summer?
