Seattle snapshots // summer break 2017

May 22, 2017

iphone snapshots - seattle, summer break 2017 | brunch at audrey's

I mentioned this in my April in-review blog post, but in case you missed it, I’m on a west coast road trip with Kat and Julia for the first two weeks of summer break! That would explain the silence on the blog, but you can keep up with me on Instagram and Snapchat. Meanwhile, as promised, I’m here with some snapshots from Seattle. I’ll be back on May 26 with snapshots from Portland.

Lunch at Moon’s Kitchen. Browsing Moorea Seal. Dessert at Blank Space Cafe. Dinner at Serious Pie. Breakfast at Top Pot Doughnuts. Browsing Glasswing. Coffee at Victrola Coffee Roasters. Lunch at Homegrown.

My first tech interview

May 8, 2017

flying to mountain view | brunch at audrey's

I disappeared from school for three days for a tech interview! I didn’t tell anybody except for a few friends (my roomie, our friend who we had stay over at our apartment whilst I was gone, and another friend) because I was so nervous and didn’t want to get overhyped. I had never done a tech interview before (or any interview, to be honest… I’ve somehow managed to escape them), so to be flown out for my first one was completely mind-boggling! Before getting this interview, I did a phone interview where I talked about myself for a bit and did two coding challenges. I was so nervous for that phone interview. The guy who was interviewing me told me that he had worked in China for a bit, so when I was telling him about myself, I said that I used to live in China. He asked when, and that was where I stumbled a bit. I couldn’t for the life of me remember which year I had moved to China. When people ask me, I usually just say after 4th grade, but that means nothing to an adult who’s been out of school for years! After a few miscalculations, I arrived at the conclusion that I lived in China from 2006 to 2014. As we continued with the interview, I got more comfortable, but I was still on edge. Which is why I was completely surprised when I got the email about the final round of interviews!

cherry blossoms - april in review | brunch at audrey's

Omg I can’t believe I forgot about getting this blog post up at 10AM EST, but hey I’m only 40 minutes late. Thank goodness I draft these blog posts early. Yesterday was May Day at Bryn Mawr College (yes, May Day arrived on April 30 this year). When I got back home, I watched Criminal Minds whilst editing photos and a vlog. The blog post with the photos will go up on Wednesday, and you can view the vlog here! (And you can view 2015’s May Day vlog here.) I won’t say too much else about it; you’ll have to wait for the blog post!

March

April 1, 2017

If I don’t wuss out, tonight I’ll be attending Lokal’s launch party! (Check out my blog post on Lokal Hotel if you missed it earlier this week.) Life has been nonstop ever since I joined PHLbloggers. I attended a work session and met two PHLblogger veterans and three other new PHLbloggers. I shot with Priyanka, Sarah, Kelsey, and Khoi. I ventured around the city for shoot locations. I got a glimpse of Lokal Hotel before opening and got to shoot in their space, which is what’s bringing me to their launch party. I’ve never been to a launch party before so I’m not sure what to expect. I suppose I’ll get to see the finished space, walk around, look at things, talk to some people if I’m brave. Nervous! Excited!
