Caffeine and carbs – 11/52 :)

March 14, 2016

The first time I went grocery shopping for myself was Fall Break of freshman year. I had a little too much fun. The first time I spent almost $100. The thing is, even though I’m living on my own away from family, I still do enough grocery shopping for my entire family of five. The second time, I managed to whittle it down to $75. As you can see, I still need to work on budgeting, but the food lasted me awhile and none of it went to waste. So this spring break, I decided I wouldn’t go grocery shopping and instead survive on a diet of caffeine and carbs (carbs = $1 bread from Asian bakeries).

Cederberg Tea House & Kerry Park

March 8, 2016

‘Twas a hot day in Seattle when my search for local coffee shops somehow led to this South African tea house. Well, it wasn’t quite as serendipitous as that. My dad and I had just hiked all the way up to Kerry Park from the bottom of Queen Anne “Hill” (more like mountain), where we parked our car, and I was in dire need of a place to recuperate and refresh. (I don’t know why we didn’t just drive all the way up to Kerry Park; I threw my hands up in the air when I saw that there was a main road that led right up to it.)

Camera, camaraderie, survival – 10/52 :)

March 7, 2016

This week was dictated not by days but by hours. What’s the minimum amount of sleep I need to maximize the time I have left for studying? So yeah, not too much stopping to smell the roses goin’ on.

Table, Boeing, beach – 9/52 :)

February 29, 2016

I stayed up rather late on Tuesday night to get my Oh Wonder post up for Wednesday, and that threw off my sleeping schedule for the rest of the week. Now that I’m in a more rested state of mind, reading back the Oh Wonder post, I feel like it was written quite hyper/hysterically. I personally found it amusing, because I’d read something and my mind would hop over to that memory, but you are reading this for the first time, so I don’t know if you found that post even half as entertaining as I did. I just hope that it didn’t come off obnoxious o.o Let me know what kind of posts you enjoy reading!

Oh Wonder

February 24, 2016

I’m innocently scrolling through my Facebook feed when… BAM! A post from Oh Wonder’s Facebook page pops up saying, “Somehow you guys pretty much sold out our first ever North American tour in 3 hours?! Crazy. So we’re upgrading the venues! Extra Seattle, Boston and Philadelphia tickets are available now and the shows are all ages! Keep your eyes peeled next week when more tickets for the other cities will be released. We can’t wait for this!” and I’m just like, “UM I didn’t even know that you were having a North American tour?! Why didn’t I know about this?!” I’m still a n00b at this whole fan thing. I’ve never really been intrigued enough by concerts to spend money on them, but then I went to my first live concert, and once you listen to live music, you never go back.

Tickets, tea, ties – 8/52 :)

February 22, 2016

The tables have tabled. Last week I was feeling a little mopey despite there being several things to be happy about (eleven on my list), and this week I’m feeling pretty good despite there being fewer things on my list, but there have been several entries on my secret Tumblr where I note down all my random thoughts. They’re mostly about personal relationships, people saying hi, running into people on the way to class, a good conversation, and other small things like that about the people in my life who bring me joy–people that I’m not yet close enough to mention here, but working on growing a relationship with.
