The first half of the week I spent trying to finish up my thesis draft, and the second half of the week I spent on Thanksgiving break! Now I’m back at school and on the academic grind. We’re getting closer to the finale of my senior thesis. Which means the next few weeks are gonna suck, but I can’t wait to be over and done with it! Honestly, I could handle the chaos that the end-of-term brings to all my classes, but this senior thesis is just… so much…
I submitted my third project of the semester; we only have one more left! We got our grades back for the second and third projects a few days later, and I’m so happy that my professor liked them. (Remember when I wasn’t sure how my animation went over? Well, I had nothing to worry about!) I’ve been really enjoying my design class this semester and have been enjoying the process, which is important to me, because I can’t tell you how many of my classmates have said to me, “I just want an A in this class,” which really strikes me as odd every time because 1) this class is soooo process oriented, and 2) the academic mindset between Tri-Co and UPenn is so different in that I feel like many Tri-Co students really want to learn and are curious and passionate, whereas many UPenn students just play the game. But also, I obviously don’t know UPenn students as well as I do Tri-Co students. Anyways, I just wish that I wasn’t graduating so soon so that I could take more design courses!
I finally learned the names of all my classmates in that class, thanks to creeping on the professor’s email list and stalking people on Facebook. I asked my close friends in that class who people were and they didn’t know, so I’m proud of myself for knowing everyone in the class! There were two people I wasn’t sure about, but through my stalking found out about, and then the following class I arrived early to work on something, and those two people happened to be early too, so I got to properly talk to them and get to know them a little bit, which was cool.
I finally lit my leaves candle from Bath & Body Works! I feel like every blogger was obsessed with it years ago and continue to obsess over it, so when I was picking out six candles from Bath & Body Works’ sale, I threw this one in. I think it’s… aight? I wouldn’t pick it out again though. Is that just me?? Please let me know your opinion if you’ve lit this candle before. I prefer scents that smell like baked goods. My favourites are warm apple pie, vanilla snowflake, and hot cocoa and cream. I’m looking forward to trying my campfire doughnut and caramel pumpkin swirl.
Snickers peanut butter squared
My dad surprised me by ordering four boxes of Snickers peanut butter squared on Amazon and shipping them to me! (My dad reads my blog, though I’m not sure how frequently, but I guess frequent enough to hear me rave about my love for these chocolates in one of my weekly updates and have them shipped to me!)
Zumbo’s Just Desserts
I said I was giving up TV shows except for Empire, which I’m keeping up with and thus not binging so it’s okay but… I caved. I was browsing Netflix and stumbled upon Zumbo’s Just Desserts, which seemed like it would fill the void that The Great British Bakeoff left when I finished binging it on Netflix. What I have to say for myself is that I only watched one episode… and then I binged the rest of the season over Thanksgiving break with friends in just over one day. At least I waited until I was on break?
Spent it in NYC, as per tradition! The vlog is already up on my Youtube channel, but a short blog post about it will be up on Wednesday (and it’ll include the vlog), so look out for that!
Oh boy. So much online shopping. Not good! You’ll see when my November-in-review blog post goes up. Which. Oh god. Should be soon. Need to start working on that.
Over the long weekend, I wrote, edited, and scheduled articles for three weeks! Now I just need to prep one more week of articles and I’ll be done for the semester.
Over the long weekend, I also pumped out four articles for Athena’s Guide to carry me through to the end of the semester. Don’t need to think about this anymore either. Now I can devote all my attention to finishing up my thesis, the final project for my design class, and whatever else I have left for my speech synthesis class (probably one more assignment, a final exam, and a final project). You might be thinking, wow Audrey, good job! You got all your articles for Her Campus and Athena’s Guide out of the way! Well, yes, I guess that’s good, but I really should have been spending all my time on my thesis so… Good luck to me o.o
I can now play Christmas music without pissing off my friends. And even if I do piss them off, well, I’m finally allowed to.
I rewatched Arthur Christmas and BOY it put me in a good mood!
How was your week?
